Dior Fahrenheit - Men

Character:

Warm, subtle and distinctive, this woody flowery fragrance is characterized by a resolutely contemporary meeting of extremes. For men looking at their future through the power of fantasy….and a sense of unlimited freedom.

Fragrance Secrets:

Top Notes- Bergamot, hawthorn, honeysuckle

  • Bergamot- The bergamot is a small and roughly pear-shaped citrus fruit originating and grown mainly in Calabria, Italy. Bergamot grow on small evergreen trees known as bergamots, which are produced from a cross of the pear lemon and the Seville orange or grapefruit. Bergamot peel is used in perfumery for its ability to combine with an array of scents to form a bouquet of aromas which complement each other. Approximately one third of all men's and about half of women’s perfumes contain bergamot essential oil. Bergamot was a component of the original Eau de Cologne developed in 17th century Germany - in 1704 the bergamot was first used to make the now famous "Eau de toilette" from the bergamot fruit by scooping out the pulp and squeezing the peel into sponges.

Heart Notes- Nutmeg, sandalwood, violet

  • Nutmeg- The nutmegs Myristica are a genus of evergreen trees indigenous to tropical southeast Asia and Australasia. They are important for two spices derived from the fruit, nutmegmace. It is believed that Roman priests may have burned nutmeg as a form of incense, although this is disputed. It is known to have been used as a prized and costly spice in medieval cuisine. In India it is known at Jaiphal. and
  • Sandalwood - Sandalwood essential oil provides perfumes with a striking wood base note. Sandalwood has a bright and fresh edge with few natural analogues. When used in smaller proportions in a perfume, it is an excellent fixative to enhance the head space of other fragrances.
  • Violet- Viola, commonly called Violets, is a genus of flowering plants in the family Violaceae, with around 400-500 species distributed around the world. Viola odorata is used as a source for scents in the perfume industry.

Base Notes- Cedar, tonka bean, patchouli

  • Cedar - Cedar (Cedrus) is a genus of coniferous trees in the plant family Pinaceae. Cedars are trees up to 30–40 m (occasionally 60 m) tall with spicy-resinous scented wood, thick ridged or square-cracked bark, and broad, level branches. This Scented Wood is mainly used for scenting purposes.
  • Patchouli- Patchouli (also patchouly or pachouli) is bushy herb of the mint family, with erect stems, reaching two or three feet (about 0.75 metre) in height and bearing small pale pink-white flowers. The plant is native to tropical regions of Asia and is now extensively cultivated in Caribbean countries, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mauritius, Philippines, West Africa and Vietnam. The scent of patchouli is heavy and strong. It has been used for centuries in perfumes and continues to be so today.
